The Howson Family is organizing this fundraiser for Jose Miguel Marin, the sweet five-year-old son of our amazing former au pair, affectionately known as Laly, who has been part of our family since she first came to live with us over 16 years ago.

Jose Miguel was born in San Jose, Costa Rica with a cardiopathy named "Fallot Tetralogy". He has already undergone four open heart surgeries, but now, he urgently needs another surgery. His best chance to live beyond the age of nine is to have a mechanical tricuspid valve implanted, however at this point he needs to travel to Barcelona, Spain ASAP for the surgery as they do not have mechanical tricuspid valves in Costa Rica. The family needs help to be able to provide this sweet boy the best chance and at least another 20+ years of life. He is full of joy, laughter, and love and his smile always lights up the room. Please help give him another chance. The funds raised will pay for the surgery, which costs approximately $100,000 USD as well as with travel bills.

La Familia Howson organiza la presente recaudación de fondos para José Miguel Marín, un dulce niño de cinco años de edad, hijo de quien fue nuestra niñera Au Pair, Priscilla Marín, a quien de forma afectuosa llamamos Laly, y quien ha sido parte de nuestra familia desde que vino a nuestras vidas hace más de 16 años.

Jose Miguel nació en San José, Costa Rica con una cardiopatía congénita llamada “Tetralogía de Fallot”. Al día de hoy, ha recibido cuatro cirugías a corazón abierto pero, ahora, de forma urgente requiere una adicional.

Su mejor oportunidad para vivir más allá de sus 9 años es que le sea implantada una válvula tricúspide. Para ello, José Miguel requiere viajar a Barcelona, España lo antes posible, ciudad en donde se encuentra el hospital donde recibiría el procedimiento, siendo que Costa Rica hoy en día no cuenta con la válvula de mención que él requiere.

Su familia requiere ayuda para poder darle a este niño la oportunidad de vivir al menos +20 años de vida. José Miguel es un niño lleno de felicidad, risas, amor y su sonrisa contagia los lugares en los que se encuentra. ¡Por favor ayúdenos a darle otra oportunidad! Los fondos a recaudar pagarán los costos de la cirugía, juntos con los gastos de viaje, suma estimada en aproximadamente $100,000 USD.
