Our names are Millie and Edie and we are the founders of Late Shift Theatre. We are going into our final year at the University of Bristol studying Theatre and English and Theatre and Film and we are working on our new theatre company’s first play, ‘Take Care’ which will be performed at The Alma Tavern from 20-21st October!

Our sitcom style play, ‘Take Care’ follows the staff of a care home for adults with learning disabilities on New Years Day, using moments of comedy and heartfelt connections to portray the nuanced experience of working in a care home. Over the course of the play, we see how the staff navigate this day that can be filled with promise but also the pressure of new beginnings. The play ends as everyone goes home apart from the member of staff who will continue the 24/7 care as night staff and the final image is them turning the lights off.
