LaTasha Benton Burial
Donation protected
On Friday, November 6th, my beautiful daughter Latasha Benton left this world much too soon losing her battle to Covid 19 at just 43 years old. Latasha has been a fighter her entire life. She was born weighing 4 pounds 2 ounces and fought her way through premature birth. She fought multiple battles with kidney disease beginning at the age of 18. She had 2 strokes, one on each side of her brain at the age of 22 causing a brain bleed leading to brain surgery. She beat the odds and fought her way through. She had hip surgery due to the effects of medication receiving two new hips and fought to walk again. She was a kidney transplant survivor. She inspired others through her multiple fights. Latasha was a very active member of her community. She was an advocate for kidney transplants working very closely with the UK Transplant Center. She was a pioneer for equal rights working with the program "Rebuilding Our Community". She was a community organizer for "Intersections" and she loved her job working at McLeod's Coffee House. Latasha always had a kind word to offer to others and would always bring a smile anywhere she went. Latasha leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and friends throughout the community. This includes her loving son Daniel and her 3 grandchildren. Due to Latasha's extensive medical history, we were not able to get life insurance. However, we still want to honor her and give her the proper burial she deserves.
