Lasting Tribute to Chuck Savatsky
Donation protected
We are heartbroken to share that my husband, Chuck Savatsky, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19th, 2025. Our family would like to create a lasting tribute that reflects his values and love for nature in his memory.
Chuck was inspired when he learned about the work of Japanese botanist Dr. Akira Miyawaki and his vision of creating dense, native mini forests to restore biodiversity and fight climate change. After learning about this concept, Chuck dreamed of planting a Miyawaki-style forest on our property once he retired.
Sadly, his retirement—and that dream—was cut far too short.
To honor Chuck’s life and legacy, we would like to plant a grove of trees on our property in Dexter, Michigan. This living memorial will grow and thrive in his name for years to come.
If you would like to join me in this project, please contribute to it in any amount. Thank you very much.
