Last Wish Farewell Tour

Donation protected
Who among us wouldn't want to be able to have that one last hug, kiss, and goodbye. To surround ourselves with family and friends while there's still a part of us left to give. To sit on the porch and relive our life stories with nieces and nephews, to reminisce of yesterday's long past with good friends, and to remember who we are and where we come from with our parents and siblings. What a great and cherished dying wish this would be for any of us.

Our son, our brother, our uncle, our friend, our Cody is leaving us. His beautiful voice, contagious laugh, and over the top comedic storytelling will be gone all to soon. But before the inevitable last journey home let's see if we can't give him a 'last wish farewell tour'.

With your help our goal is to provide Cody and his beautiful wife April with a dependable small R/V or van setup for traveling. Along with money to provide for all their needs on the road so Cody can see all of his family and friends one last time. Of course, the most difficult part of our fundraiser is to help April with the funeral costs which we all hope come far later, rather than sooner.

Cody is suffering from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and because of this his heart is failing and only working at less than 10 percent of its capacity. As you can see this is a very serious, and ultimately is a fatal heart condition that cannot be corrected. Time is not on our side. A man with such a big heart is literally dying because of a big heart. The irony of which has not gone unnoticed.

I have no idea if he'll still be with us as these words are typed out or if he'll be with us tomorrow or next month. It's hard to put into words a friendship like the one I have with Cody. Most people have never had a friendship that has lasted for 40 years. The older we get, the more involved we are with starting our own families, the more we should have drifted apart. He and I stayed close and I hold tight to every memory.

I can't give him more time, but at least I can try to help him have a chance to say good-bye. That last hug, last story, last laugh are gifts we'd like to make happen.

Thank you to everyone in advance for all of your support.
