Hey All,
I want to introduce you to Joel Hopkins or the "Last Gamer" as he is known on Facebook and YouTube:
There has been a lot of devastation in Australia in the past few months but I want to do a little something to help this Amazing man and Family. Joel Hopkins or the "Last Gamer" as he is know in Social media circles has amassed the worlds largest collection of Video Games, merchandise and even an awesome collection of Arcade machines which he houses in his house in regional Victoria.
Last week his house was hit with not one but two lightning strikes which fried everything that was connected to a power point. His beloved collection of consoles and arcades were just some of what was destroyed. The family home is essentially decimated with all of the wiring in the house needing to be redone.
Now Joel is not the type of person to ask for help, in fact he flat out refuses based on his videos that I have seen. Unfortunately for what ever reason Joel is not insured and he has essentially lost everything........I have never met Joel personally or even his family, but I can say with my time watching his YouTube channel, he has provided me hundreds of hours of entertainment and NEVER asked for anything, I have seen him and his family endure some amazing times and some tough times over the past few years.
Joel is a typical "Aussie Bloke" who does anything he can for his family and is a battler.....well sometimes life can be devastating and you need a little help.
I am not sure how much it is to re-wire a house or to fix 70+ Arcade machines and replace a bunch of consoles and other devices in a house, but I do know that as a community we can do our bit to help this great guy get back on his feet!!! I can see that Joel is a survivor and does manage to get back up even after he had health issues last year he re-invented himself better than ever.
This campaign is simply to give back something to a great bloke who has given his fans so much to laugh and cry about and help him get things back to some kind of normal for him and his family.
