Moi c’est Kim, j’ai 26 ans, et il y a 3 mois j’ai perdu un très bon ami à moi. Son nom c’est Benjamin Habib et en plus d’être la personne la plus intelligente que j’ai connue, il était gentil, drôle, et se battait pour les causes qui lui tenaient à coeur comme l’environnement ou le social. Début février 2024, Benjamin a appris qu’il était atteint d’un gliome infiltrant du tronc cérébral (GTIC), un type de cancer rare et extrêmement agressif. En 10 mois, il nous a quitté.

En sa mémoire, nous avons lancé l’association Ben Hopes, qui a pour but de financer la recherche de cette forme de cancer qui est incurable à ce jour. Elle s’engage également à soutenir les patients, souvent enfants ou jeunes adultes, ainsi que leurs proches, confrontés à un diagnostic lourd. Parce que chaque espoir compte, Ben Hopes veut faire avancer la science et apporter du réconfort à ceux qui en ont besoin.

Le 9 mars je courrai le semi marathon de Paris et je souhaite récolter des fonds car c’est lui qui m’a introduit à la course à pied, et chacun de mes pas sont portés par sa voix. Je compte sur vous (et sur mes jambes) ❤️

I'm Kim, 26 years old, and 2 months ago I lost a very good friend of mine. His name is Benjamin Habib, and more than being the smartest person I've ever known, he was kind, funny and fought for the causes he cared about, like the environment and social issues. In early February 2024, Benjamin was diagnosed with Glioma infiltrating the brain stem (GTIC), a rare and extremely aggressive type of cancer. He left us within 10 months.

In his memory, we launched a non-profit called Ben Hopes, which aims to fund research for this form of cancer, which is incurable to this day. It is also committed to supporting patients, often children or young adults, and their families, faced with a difficult diagnosis. Because every bit of hope counts, Ben Hopes wants to advance science and bring comfort to those in need.

On March 9, I'll be running the Paris half-marathon, and I want to raise funds because he is the one who introduced me to running, and all my steps are carried by his voice. I'm counting on you (and on my legs) ❤️
