LaShanta Encalade Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On April 13, 2022 Lashanta was at Encore Salon, where she was the sole owner/operator when she suffered a stroke on FaceTime. Because of the quick actions of Kenyon Williams she was able to get immediate medical attention to where LaShanta was.The type of stroke was an hemmoragic which is an emergency condition in which a ruptured blood vessel causes bleeding inside the brain.
High blood pressure and trauma are two leading causes. The stroke left her with Aphasia. Since then she has had a battery of surgeries to aid in her recovery. She is regaining the ability to speak and walk again. She has been hospitalized the past 3 months and we are preparing to bring her home 7/6/22. Ms. Betty, her mother is one the most humble, strong and God fearing woman I know. The prayers of the righteous have gotten us this far. Ms. Betty works a full-time job and is raising Shanta’s 3 sons in addition to tending to Shanta's needs DAILY. We will have to employ part time assistance for her 24-hr care. I want as a community FOR US to lighten her load a little bit. Bringing Shanta home means we are now receiving outpatient services. This will require increased trips back and forth to the many doctors and Neurological Specialists. Because of the rural area she lives in we will be bringing Shanta to live with me in Gretna for immediate access to resources and medical facilities. Ms. Betty and I work and will be ensuring Shanta has round the clock 24-hr caregiving from family and friends. Shanta offered free and modified services to a lot of people and it’s time that those seeds of harvesting are reaped. I won’t say much more because I want Shanta’s to tell HER LIVING TESTIMONY. SHE IS A MIRACLE. Please share and get the word out. Thank you and keep praying!!! ~Toya
