Friends and Family,
Larry Ybarra, who has four children (Ages 35, 27, 9 and 7), two grandchildren (6 and 4) and the strongest wife, was diagnosed with cancer in January. This is the third life-changing medical event he’s had in the last three years — from back surgery to a triple bypass to cancer. That's a lot for anyone. It’s been one thing after another, and insurance and sick time can only go so far during this difficult time. Today we are asking for your help. We're hoping together we can raise money to ease the financial burden this hardship brings on the family.
In mid-January, Larry ended up in the hospital after feeling weak. Doctors later told him he had Hemolytic Anemia.
His body was rapidly destructing his red blood cells, dropping his hemoglobin levels. Hemoglobin is responsible for sending oxygen to our organs. Regular hemoglobin levels are anywhere from 9 to 14. Dad's were, and still are, 4 to 6.
A biopsy revealed lymphoma, and doctors at St. Luke’s diagnosed him with cancer: Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma , Stage 2. It's treatable and curable through current treatments, based on information provided. So we're optimistic.
Chemo treatments began Jan. 26, and they'll last for six months. Unfortunately, he's gonna lose his hair (that's a joke, because he's been bald for years). And luckily he's back home, manning the remote control and sleeping through science-fiction and disaster movies.
Any donation you can give is gratefully appreciated and truly will make a difference to help the family through this. Thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers. WE LOVE YOU!
It's been a lot to handle in such a short span of time, but he's hanging in there. He's as tough as they come. We know he's got this!
We will keep you updated on Larry's progress!
Thank you.
