Hello,
My name is Tricha and I have started this go fund me account to help out my brother Larry.
Larry is 33 years old and lives in New York City where he makes a living as a bartender and hairdresser with a bright future ahead of him. In November 2014, he became sick. Upon visiting the doctor, he was treated for mono and infected lymph nodes. When his health did not improve, he decided to go to a specialist. After retrieving a tissue sample and conducting more tests, Larry was given the diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. At first the news didn't seem too bad...yes, it's cancer, so it's not good. However, at that time he was told it was only Stage 1. After undergoing surgery on the lymph node, the doctors diagnosed him with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which asked for a lot more than expected. His diagnosis called for 6 months of intensive chemotherapy and countless doctor's appointments. Larry has maintained his full-time job throughout this exhausting process. For Larry, every day tasks are a struggle, the side effects of chemotherapy are tiring, and keeping up with countless medications has become his new normal. No one expected this ... A lot of people go through life thinking stuff like that won't happen to them and unfortunately, cancer is cancer...it doesn't pick a certain age or sex. It's something that happens and has to be dealt with. Now, 4 months into treament, things are looking up. Still, its been a rough road for him.
I started this account with the hope that Larry can focus on his health more than this financial burden. As exhausting as treatment is, Larry has stayed hopeful and kept a positive attitude. His life has changed completely, a lot of the things he enjoys he is not able to do right now. In closing, I am asking for help from anybody who can. Any amount you can give is appreciated. Thank you from our family.
