Larry Thurston Appreciates Your Help!
Donation protected
Larry Thurston, a loving husband, father, man of God, and former blues singer, suffered a devastating fall in June 2021. The incident left in paralyzed and with rising medical expenses. Since then, he is working diligently with his physical therapist and other medical staff to gain enough strength to undergo a life changing surgery. The prayer is that with this procedure, it will help to alleviate pressure from his spine and give him a fighting chance to regain mobility in his body.
Larry Thurston had an amazing career as a soul and R&B singer who worked with various known artists and bands, including Matt “Guitar” Murphy and the Blues Brothers’ band, the St Louis’ Soulard Blues Band, the Blues City Band, the Mighty Big Band, among others. After retiring from his music career in 1994, he began his journey as an employee for the City of Saint Louis.
Three years ago, Larry Thurston retired again, this time from the City of Saint Louis, to focus on family by devoting more time to loving his wife, LaDonna Thurston, and their 5 children.
He now looks forward to returning home after his pending surgery. Unfortunately, medical expenses have made it extremely difficult to plan for he and his wife’s future. Currently, we are asking for donations to assist with medical and living expenses so he can have a smooth transition back home.
His family and friends have offered a tremendous amount of support during this extremely challenging time. In addition, he has relied heavily on support from a variety of hospital professionals, as well as an amazing team of skilled nurses.
He is forever grateful for the visits, phone calls, letters, and thoughts that have empowered his faith that everything will be ok! Thank you all in advance for any contributions to his recovery.
