Larry Lagace "The Golden Rule"

On March 7, 2020. Larry Lagace, husband to Leslie Lagace, father and friend to many was in a tragic accident from falling a tree in Leslie's father's yard. Even with Larry being somewhat of a "tree cutting guru" something just did not go right this time. The tree had been stabilized while Larry began cutting the base of the tree. There was a loud cracking sound and within seconds the tree began to fall in the wrong direction. Larry did not realize that the tree was falling toward him and he ran the same direction that the tree was falling. The tree literally engulfed him completely. But not before it twisted him and threw him onto the cement driveway.
When the EMT's and Firefighters arrived they had to cut him out of the tree. Larry was then transported to the hospital.
His injuries are life changing. His neck is fractured at the base of his skull. His femur is broken in half and is broken away from his hip. His tibfib is broken away from his knee and is in nine pieces. His sternum is fractured as well.
Larry had a first surgery shortly after being admitted into Intensive Care. That surgery lead to knowing that in addition to all the broken and fractured bones. Larry had a heart attack during the trauma of the accident. He now needs to undergo heart surgery to get his heart strong enough to complete the other surgeries needed to mend his bones. In addition he also had three blood transfusions and his blood cell count continues to drop.
Larry and Leslie together have a long road of healing ahead of them. Multiple surgeries, physical therapy and trauma therapy. At this time it is looking like months possibly up to a year before Larry is back to his daily routine. Even with Larry's benefits many months is going to be a challenge.
This go fund me page is to help Larry and Leslie with added expenses and current expenses due to the accident. It will also help reduce stress and worry. Larry and Leslie need to be able to focus more on healing from this unexpected event that has changed both of their lives.
