Larry Fiedler

Imagine meeting the love of your life, your soul mate, your person. You have a whirlwind romance. Less than two years later you have to say goodbye. Groot, the little guy from Guardians of the Galaxy became a topic of conversation when Larry and Wendy met, prompting talk of going to a movie. She gave him her number. They went to lunch at Grotto’s on July 5th and within a month, they moved in together and married on October 5, 2021. More recently they renewed their wedding vows on the beach in their community, Rehoboth Bay where they reside.

One month after they had met Larry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It spread to his liver. On Saturday, August 28, 2022, Larry lost his battle and left this world, leaving his children, stepchildren, many pets and plants, friends and neighbors, and the one woman that made his last years on this earth love-filled and unique.

Larry had cared for his first wife for 15 years before she succumbed to kidney disease which exhausted his nest egg. He was a caring, friendly man with a green thumb and a heart without boundaries. Larry loved his neighborhood community and we will forever miss seeing him on his golf cart.

Sadly, Larry left without a pre-paid burial plan or life insurance. Because he spent most of his life as a civil servant mechanic, he did not pay into Social Security. Wendy is now left with a huge hole in her heart, burial expenses, medical expenses, and the remaining mortgage on Larry’s home where she lives. She has no remaining paid time off from her job and needs our help. Wendy is an amazing woman that loved a man through the end of his days and had to say goodbye to him.
