Larry & Fanny Chan

On May 29th, my friend and co-worker Larry Chan went missing in Candlewood Lake; after two weeks of searching, he was finally found. Larry was 24 years old. During those two weeks of searching at the lake, I was able to spend a ton of time with Larry's mother- Fanny. Raising Larry on her own since he was a baby- I had learned that in her 20 years at her current job- that this search was the first time EVER in her career that she had ever called out. In 20 years. I am raising money for Larry's mother- to cover all service expenses and to assist with the cost of living after the fact. I made a promise to Larry's mother that I would do everything I could to help her. Larry Chan was a veteran. He was a leader. His personality was infectious; he could light up a room the second he walked into it. He was selfless and went above and beyond to help those around him. He is who he is as a young man because of his mother- who he constantly voiced as his inspiration, motivation and hero. And after everything she has gone through... She deserves the best effort and support from an entire community of those who knew and loved Larry most. Finally, in reading this- I hope two things: 1) you are well and that you hug your loved ones tight today. And 2) please consider donating. Any amount at all helps more than you realize. Thank you.
