There are thousands of Larry stories that we could share; my ability to adequately describe my Dad's larger than life personality and to sum up his amazing life is lacking. My heart aches with all the memories and the reality of his loss. I am writing this on behalf of all of his children in order to honor his life and give those who were touched by him an opportunity to honor him as well.
Our father, Larry Elliott, touched the lives of all he came into contact with. Over the years as a contractor in the Cottonwood area, then at his second "career" at Hidden Valley Market and finally as the King of the Harbor in Crescent City, Dad lived every day with an endless curiosity that brought him constant joy; every person he met was an instant friend. Dad was a beloved father, brother, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the Lord, his family, his dogs and fishing and hunting. It is devastating to imagine a world without his loud laugh, his strong hugs or his endless hunting and fishing stories.
For the last few years, Dad embraced a simple life on the ocean living aboard the Ali Lynn, fishing as often as he could. One of his favorite things was to have family, friends or strangers join him aboard and take them out to his favorite spots. He took it personally if everyone did not come back with a fish. Dad walked all over the city with his beloved dogs keeping up on all the local goings on and making new friend along the way.
Our Plan: We are planning to purchase a memorial bench, overlooking the bay, at the Crescent City Harbor in honor of my dad, Larry Elliott. Our goal is to dedicate this bench and hold a gathering to celebrate Dad's life on November 23, 2021. We will fry fish, tell stories and celebrate our love for Larry. All are welcome to attend this outdoor, social distanced event.
Thank you for any consideration.
