Larry Caudillo, loving husband, father, son, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 30th. He is survived by his devoted wife Stacey (Manseau) Caudillo, daughters Renata (12) and Karis (8), mother Barbara Caudillo and countless extended family, friends, and colleagues.
Larry and Stacey spent 23 wonderful years together and recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary. Their story began with a chance meeting online. Larry was an avid gamer who ended up talking to the girl more interested in being social than actually gaming. Their online chats turned into phone calls that became in person visits and blossomed into a loving relationship. All of this happening long before meeting people online was a common thing. They decided to marry and start a family. Together they built a beautiful life full of friends and family, with their two exuberant girls as their anchor.
What has become most apparent since his passing is that Larry was truly a friend to all. His somewhat quiet demeanor could mask the quick-witted, kind-hearted man underneath. Larry was often quick to offer support or lend a hand to anyone who crossed his path. He loved a good joke or meme which often triggered his loud and infectious laughter. He had a love for all kinds of food. He would try just about anything and he wanted others to do the same. Larry truly enjoyed sharing a meal with people, giving them a new food ideas, a restaurant to try or inviting friends over to the house to share in a home cooked meal. He always invited others to join his family for holiday meals. Larry enjoyed video games, watching movies, listening to music and spending time with his family. Larry played Nintendo Switch with his family and almost always lead the way in Mario Kart. He introduced Karis to anime and loved that he could find her watching a show or drawing and designing her own characters. He taught Renata the fundamentals of Archery. He bought them bows and would take her on Saturdays whenever he could, so they could practice. He was proud of the progress she made hitting targets.
Larry was a hard working man and dedicated employee. He worked for the City of Los Angeles as a Traffic Officer (TO) in the Department of Transportation for 23 years. He liked working traffic control and special events. He often enjoyed chatting with fellow TOs either before or after a shift.
All funds raised will go directly to the celebration of Larry's life that is planned for Monday, May 24th. Any additional funds will be allocated to take care of his daughters, Renata and Karis. They will be provided directly to Larry's wife Stacey. Funeral Service Information can be found here:
