Hello Everyone!
I am trying to raise money for the infamous, Lawrence Berg, who I so luckily get to call my father. As you all know Larry is probably the most generous, kind-hearted, best smiling guy around. A lot of you are probably stunned that I am even starting this fund, because my dad use to be very well off. And he was, until this last year.
Recently, my father's ALS has severely progressed, which caused him to resign from his remote trading job and be enrolled in hospice. Thank goodness for the VA because he is able to afford his caregivers. However, since the beginning of this year he has not been able to pay for his mortgage, things that have broken around the house (i.e. oven, fountain, etc.), and refuses to turn on the AC in hot New Mexico due to the electrical bill. Therefore, any types of donations will be directly used for the items I listed above. I just recently applied for Medicaid, which will help for paying his caregivers fully and on time. But honestly, I am just trying to keep my dads house for him!
He is unable to go into a nursing home because the essential duties he needs, they do not offer, such as feeding and lifting him. My husband and I have been trying to cover as much as we can, as I have been helping my dad (at his house) since October of 2019. He has a great support team in New Mexico and love surrounding him.
