Large Lahaina Ohana - Jeff and Courtney Lazo fam

Donation protected
My name is Tami and I am good friends with Courtney Keakahulilani (La Bat Ramos) Lazo and her large Lahaina-born and raised family. Courtney, her husband Jeff Lazo, and their young sons are among the many families that have lost absolutely everything due to the devasting fires.
Not only have they lost their home, they have countless family members that have also lost their homes, jobs, memories, history....everything that they have. Her entire family has been displaced and yet they have not stopped making sure they are doing everything they can to help everyone else. Her siblings De Andre Makakoa, Taina La Bat-Polanco, Nui La Bat-Alconcel all have young babies. Their grandmothers house is also gone. This family has been in Lahaina for generations. This is more than their home. This is their identity, their heritage, their history. Gone, with not a single momento left of any of it.

And yet, they all continue to fight through their devestation and have not stopped helping others. They have been a pivotal part in arranging convoys with escorts to bring supplies into Lahaina, they have continued to update social media with as much information, images and video non-stop. They have been in constant communication with as many people as they can keep up with. They have made non-stop trips between Lahaina and Kahului, bringing as many supplies as they can possibly fit each time.

These people are some of the nicest, most genuine people there are. Even with the money they receive from this gofundme, they probably will be using to help others before they use any of it for themselves. I trust Jeff and Courtney will use all of the funds where they matter most as needed and I have no doubt they will play a major role in the cleanup, restoration, and rebuilding of Lahaina. And no doubt they will never stop fighting to make sure that when things are rebuilt they are rebuilt with RESPECT for Hawaiian History and Culture. They will honor the Iwi Kupuna, they will honor the 'Aina, they will honor the Lahaina community and ohana.
