Dear Family and Friends,
It’s mission-trip-planning time again! This year, I will be traveling to Ghana in May to serve the children living at the House of Hope orphanage in a small village called Kledjo, just south of the city of Hohoe in the Volta Region of Ghana. I will be traveling with my dear friend Lara Harrelson, who will function as my dental assistant. She and her family have financially supported and sponsored a child, Bernard, at the House of Hope for 10 years, and when she learned they were searching for a dentist to come provide dental care for their children, she immediately contacted me because she knows of my love for dental missions, especially in areas with no access to care.
As these children have never had access to dental care, my goal is to provide fluoride treatments and dental sealants, as well as extractions of infected and painful teeth. Fluoride and dental sealants both have the benefit of preventing tooth decay. Extractions of infected teeth prevent the spread of infection throughout the body and relieve pain.
The cost of this trip, including airfare for both Lara's, rental of portable dental equipment, and purchase of dental supplies will be about $3700.
If you feel led to invest in the health of children on the other side of the world, here is your chance! Everything you give will go directly toward improving their dental and overall health while showing them the love of Jesus!
