Lara’s Fight !

Donation protected

5/6/23 UPDATE: The McArthurs are extremely grateful for all of the support from the Community. Lara was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease on 4/26/23 which is a chronic disease that impacts the endocrinology system and results in a host of physical and emotional symptoms. As previously stated, Lara is wheelchair-bound and will not be able to work in the foreseeable future. Lara is scheduled for brain surgery on 6/6/23 where the tumor on her pituitary gland will be removed. The recovery time is uncertain and she will be monitored and in treatment for the rest of her life. Please consider prayers, positive vibes and support. Thank you again to our WONDERFUL community.

As many of you know, my family was faced with a medical trauma that turned our world upside down in 2018! Our saving grace was the support of our community. I am forever grateful and will ALWAYS pay it forward, no matter how big or small. One of our very own, Lara McArthur is facing serious and potentially chronic, debilitating medical issues that will impact the emotional, physical and financial needs not only of Lara but the entire family. I can personally attest that the McArthurs have not only been an integral part of our community but have given back to the community ALWAYS without ever looking for anything in return. Lara’s medical journey is very uncertain. She cannot walk after back surgery which went well and then there was significant regression leading to being wheelchair-bound. The insurance company is denying further testing to determine proper diagnosis and treatment protocols. Aside from dealing with the medical trauma, the family has lost their second income as Lara cannot work. Not now and not in the foreseeable future. Like many of us, they have a daughter, Haley getting ready for college and their son, Ryan not far behind. Lara is being released in several days from inpatient rehabilitation, but her condition has not improved. Lara will need nursing care around the clock and the home will need to be reconstructed as handicap accessible.
I am grateful to live in a wonderful community that cares about one another. Please donate, reach out, and send a meal to one of our own.
