Larah’s wheelchair freedom

Donation protected
Hi,
My names Larah, I’m 27 years old. I had a horse accident when I was 15 years old and sustained a spinal/back injury. I’ve had 2 spinal surgeries - unfortunately one of the surgeries failed and has given me chronic debilitating pain 24/7 and chronic nerve damage in my legs. I also get very painful spasms. I also was recently diagnosed with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) which causes lots of different symptoms for me. (Seizures, tremors, numbness and tingling, paralysis in my legs etc). I also have HSD (Hypermobility) which is a connective tissue disorder and one of my symptoms is it means my joints constantly dislocate, sublux which is very painful. I’m also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which causes widespread pain and other symptoms. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome meaning my fatigue is quite debilitating and often leaves me stuck in bed, in the dark. My current wheelchair does not fold up so it’s hard to take out to places. It’s also not fit for my needs anymore. Wheelchair services have been very unhelpful and keep saying they’re going to remove the chair because I can stand up on my okay days. (Can’t walk far at all but because I can stand up for a few seconds). It’s causing me a lot of stress which then causes my symptoms to flare up more. I’m fundraising to get a new wheelchair that is more suited to my needs and will help me get out more with family and friends. Costing will cover most of the wheelchair costs that are needed. Anything else, I will cover.

Having a wheelchair is my freedom. It helps me massively. It’s changed my life.
I want to be able to go to National Trust places again, I really miss doing this and going out with my family/friends which isn’t possible with my current chair as it doesn’t suit my needs. Having a wheelchair is what still allows me to move around despite the very limited mobility I have due to my chronic illnesses and disability.

I understand the cost of living is difficult so if you can’t donate, please can you share my go fund me. It would mean the world to me. Thank you so much <3 x

Funds will be used to go towards the new wheelchair that will suit my needs much better.
