Hey everyone I am setting up this fundraiser to help my Aunt Kris an uncle Tom. My aunt and uncle live in a small town outside of traverse city, my uncle Tom unexpectedly collapsed from an aneurysm almost a month ago after being out prom shopping with his youngest daughter Bella. They rushed him to kalkaska hospital where they stabilized him enough to be North Flighted to Spectrum Butterworth. He under went 14 hours of surgery on the 22nd to repair the aneurysm and replace his mechanical valve. Had some blood clots that had caused a small stroke effecting his ability to swallow which resulted in him needing a feeding g tube until he could strengthen those muscles, The first tube feeding caused some bowel issues which resulted in him needing to have several surgeries after that, which he did well with was moved out of ICU and that night he coded twice, which resulted another surgery and is now on an ECMO machine. This all has been so stressful and scary for them and financially challenging. My aunt and cousins have been staying in a hotel for a month which really adds up on top of the medical bills from my uncle being in ICU for over a month, my uncle has not been able to work from previous heart surgeries he had years ago and my aunt has been dealing with a her own medical issues.
