Hey there. My name is Rei, also known as StylishChocobutt and TwoSecondDork.

I have lived with an unknown condition most of my life. I missed a large amount of education when younger due to being confined to bed, barely able to move during the worst bouts. Eventually, I found a medication that spared me of the worse symptoms for two years and I managed to complete college during this time.

Despite concerns, I attended University and even moved to Japan (despite my medication being illegal there, and thus unobtainable) and I did manage to enjoy life there, though often had to miss out on activities with friends if I was too sick, as my new meds only did so much.

While I was abroad I noticed something strange. Food would randomly make me very pained and sick, and it felt like my digestive system was no longer running at the right speed. Combining that symptom with ongoing ones, I was worried, but I ignored it at the time.

In 2017 I started to have persistant stomach aches and more regular 'pain attacks' but at this time my medication wasn't working, and I put it down to side effects of the menstruation related symptoms. My digestion had slowed to a crawl however by this point, and I began searching out fibre rich foods, thinking my diet was to blame.

By 2019 my medication had entirely stopped working once more and to make matters worse, this one had caused a significant weight gain that I couldn't combat through gym. I changed meds again, this time to an androgynous hormone because I plan on transitioning one day.

Then the 'pain attacks' started to come every few weeks. I often joke that these are probably the same level I'd expect labour to feel like. I've considered calling and ambulance many times but we're around 2 hours from the nearest one arriving, and by that time, the pain has passed. Afterwards, for the next few days, there's a stabbing, persistent ache.

It's now 2021 and I've managed, with help from good friends, to see a private Gynaecologist who has suggested that the only way I can be diagnosed with anything - possible Endometreosis - is through a Laparoscopy. One into the stomach, another into the womb. During this procedure they would also take out anything that shouldn't be there.

In terms of symptoms right now,

  • Permanent tiredness
  • My left hip 'glues' and seizes up, leaving me dragging my leg.
  • Painful menstruation when my current medication doesn't hold it back
  • Pain 'attacks' every few weeks that leave me doubled over
  • Lack of any sort of digestive movement in my system
  • Incredibly sore limbs
  • Persistant stomach ache with a stabbing-like pain
  • Unexplained high blood pressure

There's probably more, but those are the ones I can pull from my mind now.

I tried the route of ultrasounds, they came back clear - but the procedure that should have been uncomfortable at most, was absolute agony internally, and this just worries me more.

I am on the NHS wait list, but the average wait could be over nine months. If I went private, I could have it within a week of having the money; the difference is like night and day; and I'm highly concerned how much more damage there could be if I wait that long.

That being said, this surgical procedure is not cheap, and thus here I am making this page. I'd like to go private, and during a pandemic would feel much more comfortable doing so, but I'd need your help to do so.

The cost is £5300 for the procedure and £700 for the insertion of a mirena coil whilst under, totalling £6000.

If you can do anything to help, please do.

If by some miracle I get a call from the NHS tomorrow (instead of in nine months) going 'Hey you can have it!' and donations have been made, I will refund donators (if Gofundme allows that, or I'll redirect donations to charity).
