This fundraiser was created to support Lani and her family, who share deep roots within the Guam community. Lani’s mother, Shevelle Flores, is originally from Agana Heights, Guam, and later made her home in Panama City, Florida. Though miles apart, their island family remains close in heart and spirit.

In this difficult season, Guam reflects the true meaning of inafa’maolek—coming together in love, compassion, and unity to uplift one another. We are deeply grateful for every prayer, kind word, and act of generosity. Your support is a reminder that God’s love is present through community, and it means more than words can express as they walk through this unimaginable journey.

Here is Lani’s story:

On August 19, 2025, lives were changed forever.

Lani was involved in a tragic car accident in Panama City, Florida, where she was a passenger in the backseat of a friend’s vehicle. In an instant, everything stopped. What followed has been the most difficult journey her family has ever faced—one marked by unimaginable trauma, unwavering strength, and complete dependence on God.

As a result of the accident, Lani suffered multiple skull fractures, facial fractures, a burst spleen, a fractured clavicle, and severe traumatic brain injuries. Since that day, she has undergone seven brain surgeries, with her most recent surgery taking place on December 31, 2025.

That is seven times Lani has been wheeled into an operating room.
Seven times her family leaned fully into faith, prayer, and hope—trusting God to carry her through each procedure.

Every surgery has been critical and high risk. Each one has required more courage, endurance, and strength than anyone should ever have to summon. Yet through it all, Lani continues to fight with a resilience that leaves doctors, therapists, and everyone around her in awe.

On September 27, 2025, Lani was transferred to The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where she is receiving specialized care and intensive rehabilitation. Shepherd Center is five hours away from home, and since her admission, her mom and grandparents have been traveling back and forth every other week to be by her side—advocating for her, praying over her, encouraging her, and reminding her that she is never alone.

Lani still has a very long road of recovery ahead. Some days bring progress and small victories; other days are filled with exhaustion, pain, and uncertainty. But through it all, Lani continues to show up. She pushes through therapy. She faces each day with courage. Her strength is nothing short of a miracle, and her family truly believes God’s hand has been on her every step of the way.

Lani’s Medical Journey Includes:

• A tragic car accident on August 19 in Panama City, Florida
• Multiple skull fractures and facial fractures
• A burst spleen and fractured clavicle
• Severe traumatic brain injuries
• Seven brain surgeries
• Extended hospital stays
• Ongoing rehabilitation and therapy at Shepherd Center
• Long-term medical care far from home

This GoFundMe was created to help ease the overwhelming financial burden that comes with Lani’s continued medical care—medical bills, surgeries, rehabilitation, therapy, travel expenses, lodging, and daily living costs—while supporting her family as they remain by her side throughout her recovery.

Asking for help is not easy. If you feel led to give, please know that every single donation—no matter the amount—makes a difference. And if you’re unable to give, prayers are just as sincerely requested. Her family firmly believes prayer has carried Lani this far and will continue to carry her forward.

Thank you for taking the time to read Lani’s story, for loving her, praying for her, and standing with Lani and her family during this journey.

Even in the hardest moments, God continues to show His faithfulness, and her family is forever grateful.

With love, faith, and gratitude,
—Lani’s Family
