I am the Chair of Friends of Langton School (FoLS), the parent teacher collaboration at Langton Primary School. As a registered charity, we are on a mission to raise almost £9,000 for a replacement Trim Trail for the school, on top of our regular annual fundraising.
We are a small group of very busy parents who want the best for our children, ensuring they have access to safe, quality equipment and resources to enrich their learning. Being a small village school with limited outdoor space, having grown over the years, it is important they make the best use of the space they have.
They have had a wooden trim trail occupying a small grassed area for years and it has been well used by all ages, from Reception through to Year 6. However, it is well weathered and deteriorating so many parts can no longer be used and the whole thing needs replacement to be safe and accessible.
Working with the school and the pupils, we have a new design and have sought quotes for a replacement, and sadly the cost is beyond the realms of our normal fundraising amounts, hence the Go Fund Me campaign.
We work tirelessly to raise over £5,000 each year for ongoing commitments, to support school trips, extra curricular resources, forest schools equipment, sports kits, musical instruments, swimming lessons, etc so going beyond this we need your help.
We are reaching out to local businesses, individuals and our wider networks for support. Any donation will be hugely appreciated - the quicker we can raise the money the sooner we can get the new equipment installed and the children can start using it.
All donations of £250 or more will be acknowledged on a sign and in communications when the Trail is built. If you’d prefer to make an anonymous donation, that’s fine, but we won’t be able to thank you and acknowledge your input in the same way. All small donations are obviously very welcome as every little helps, and of course we’ll be very grateful for your contribution.
