Langton A Team - Vex Worlds 2022, Dallas, Texas

My name is Helen Hart and I’m the mum of Bob Hart in year 13. I’d like to tell you about the VEX Robotics Competition that my son has been involved with and represented Langton for the last 6 years.
VEX is the largest International High School Robotics Competition. 20,000 teams from 50 countries compete in over 1700 competitions worldwide every year. Every year VEX sets a new engineering challenge presented in the form of a game. To be successful, competitors need to demonstrate excellence in designing, building and programming their robot, plus strategy and teamwork.
The Langton A VEX Robotics Team has been competing in National competitions for the last 5 years. This year’s Team of 3 year 13 students, Josh, Louis and Bob, have qualified in previous years for both National and World Finals, but, for obvious reasons, have been unable to take up their place.
This year following fierce competition, Langton A have qualified again for the World Finals, taking place in early May in Dallas, USA.
This is an amazing achievement for the Team, and represents the pinnacle of years of hard work and the brilliant support from Mr George and the Computer Science Department.
The Team are preparing to attend, but, obviously, it’s not going to be cheap to send the Team and 2 accompanying adults.
We would so much appreciate any support you can give to enable to Team to attend. The Team will be competing as ambassadors for the Langton. They’ve always taken their role in mentoring and supporting other students very seriously and, by competing at the highest level, want to leave a legacy to inspire students who come after them.
Any funds that we raise beyond what we need will be given to Mr George and the Computer Science Department for them to use for the Langton VEX Teams in the future.
Thank you in advance for your support - it’s truly appreciated.
