Hello, I’m reaching out to start a go fund me page for my dad, Ricky Laney. 

What was supposed to be a fun weekend turned into tragic weekend. My dad Ricky Laney was in a side by side accident on our trip in West Virginia. He was life flighted to CAMC GENERAL HOSPITAL and is in very critical condition. Because of COVID my mom has not been able to go in and see him, all but facetime a couple times.

They were coming down the mountain and the side by side hit gravel and he was ejected along with my brother, Alex my sisters’ husband and cousin. Alex is back home very sore but alive. My brother is sore and alive Trevor my mom’s cousins boy is just sore.

My dad is in critical condition, they said he was responding to a little bit of pain. He does have swelling on his brain, they are monitoring his intracranial pressure. When they tried to turn the ventilator down his pressures in his brain went up, they are currently trying to get his pressure below 20. He has received multiple units of blood. Mom said they are waiting on neuro to come in and see him to determine if they can take him to get a CT scan to make sure he is not bleeding anywhere else or if it is from the trauma. We have not been told a lot of things because my mom can not be up there due to COVID, West Virginia restricted all visitors.

Our family never asks for anything, we don’t know what to do at this time. My mom is not going to be able to work, she is staying at a hotel a couple blocks away (Quality inn on Washington street). We are asking for anything to help for hotel, gas, food, medical expenses.

I would greatly appreciate it. I know that money can be tight, so please know that even $1 can help But most of  of all Prayers!
