My mother sadly had to say goodbye to the love of her life and partner for the last 16 years on Sunday Dec 11. Landon had been in a long battle with pneumonia caused by covid since Oct. He had been hospitalized three times in cedar city UT where they have lived for the last three years. This last time after a couple of days something went wrong with his heart causing him to go in to cardiac arrest . It took the Drs at least 9 minutes to revive him.
He was life flighted to provo where after 4 days it was determined that he would not wake up and if he did he would not have any quality of life. So the decision was made to let him return peacefully to his heavenly father. This has devastated my mother, his 2 adult children, 2 young children, his family. It especially affected my 8 year old younger sister that has special needs. He was her hero and best friend.
Landon had an infectious laugh, a hug that made you feel safe. My mom called him her gentle giant. She is now having to figure out how to pick up the pieces and learn to live without him. I would like them to be able to grieve without having to worry about how to pay for things like rent and food and other bills. Also, my mom is wanting to try help make keepsakes of some kind for all of the family members with his ashes, but she cannot afford to do any of that with only her small amount of income.
