Landon Gibson

Athens - Landon Gibson, 15, of Athens, OH, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 21, 2023, In Athens.

Landon was born November 2, 2007, in Athens Ohio, son of Amy Shields and the late Dale Gibson. Landon was a freshmen at Athens High School. He participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track. After many of those games, he and his father enjoyed a discussion critiquing his performance. Landon spent much of his free time going to the skatepark, the Athens Recreation Center, and hanging out in downtown Athens with his friends, mingling with the coeds. Landon had a large group of friends that he loved.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother Zayne Gibson; his paternal grandmother Rhonda Hill; maternal grandparents Darrell Shields;Juanita Balch; maternal great grandmother Josie Shields; aunt, Jodi Gibson, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Beside his father he is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Gordon Gibson; and uncle Sean Gibson.

Graveside services will be held at Athens Memory Gardens on May 26th at 11:00am. Following graveside services there will be a meal provided at the Athens American Legion Post 21 West Union Street in Athens. Everyone is invited to attend, and if you wish to bring a covered dish, you may but it is not necessary. Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home.
