On August 23, the unthinkable happened. Our community lost two of its brightest lights, Landon and Charlotte, along with six other family members, in a senseless act of violence.

Landon was just 15 years old and preparing to begin his sophomore year at Senior High School. He was a loving, caring young man who was always willing to lend a hand to his family and neighbors. He was looking forward to getting his driver’s license this week and was a patient, protective, and loving big brother.

Charlotte was 12 and preparing to begin seventh grade. Funny, precocious, and adorable—with just the right amount of stubborn—Charlotte had an angelic smile and loved posing for pictures. She especially loved exploring the world around her, turning over rocks to look for bugs. Oh, how she loved her bugs!

These two precious children leave behind a hole that is impossible to comprehend, along with a family facing unimaginable grief. While none of us can take away the pain this family is experiencing, we can help ease one burden they should not have to carry right now: the financial cost of saying goodbye. Every donation to Landon and Charlotte’s Memorial Fund will help cover memorial and funeral expenses for these beloved children and provide support for their mom, Erica Jarussi Schneider, her husband Danny, and grandma Arneen and the entire family as they navigate the devastating days ahead.
