Land of the Giants Cycling Event 2025
A note from Dave Cockerton:-
My wife Katheryn and I are embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure—cycling through the remarkable landscapes of Botswana's Northern Tuli Game Reserve. It's more than just a ride; it's our way of supporting wildlife conservation, biodiversity, and community empowerment through the incredible work of the Tuli Conservation Trust.
Conservation That Builds Community – Tuli Conservation Trust
Land of the Giants Cycling Event 2025
The 2025 Land of Giants Cycling Event will take place from 6-12 June 2025 in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, southeast Botswana. Organized and hosted by the team behind Mashatu Game Reserve, the largest landowner in the reserve, along with the Tuli Conservation Trust, this event offers a unique opportunity for participants to experience Botswana’s breathtaking landscapes while raising awareness for wildlife conservation, biodiversity, and community development.
About Mashatu Game Reserve & the Tuli Conservation Trust
Spanning 72,000 hectares, the Northern Tuli Game Reserve (Notugre) is a remarkable wilderness in southeast Botswana. It is a key part of the 5,909-square-kilometre Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area, a region dedicated to the shared management of natural and cultural resources across international borders.
The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) was established to protect and enhance Notugre, the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area, and surrounding communities through conservation and sustainable community empowerment.
Our mission is to protect the wildlife of Northern Tuli and develop long-term, sustainable solutions that enable harmonious human-wildlife coexistence.
Founded in 2006, the Tuli Conservation Trust UK, TCT’s UK-based sister trust, focuses on fundraising to support these efforts. Funds raised through the Land of the Giants Cycling Event 2025 will go directly to the anti-poaching team, which operates to protect the local fauna and flora, thereby preserving and enhancing the ecosystems of Notugre.
Our Ride for Conservation
To support the Tuli Conservation Trust, Katheryn and I, together with riders from across the globe, will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge—cycling between 120-180km over three days through Mashatu Game Reserve.
As riders move through this pristine wilderness, experiencing wildlife and communities first-hand, the motivation behind the event is to raise funds and awareness for The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) and its work in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve.
