Land of the Giants Cycle Tour - Tuli Conservation Trust

“Through education and empowerment, the local community will not only be able to value this pristine wilderness but also share fairly in its benefits.”

“Conservation That Builds Community” – Tuli Conservation Trust

The 2024 Land of Giants Bike Race will take place from 1-4 May 2024 on the Northern Tuli Game Reserve in south-east Botswana. The event is being organised and hosted by the team behind Mashatu Game Reserve, the largest landowner in the reserve, and the Tuli Conservation Trust. The event is aimed at providing participants a unique opportunity to experience a stunning area in Botswana and to create awareness for conservation of wildlife, biodiversity, and communities.

Tuli Conservation Trust – Mission & Focus
The Northern Tuli Game Reserve is a 72,000-hectare unique game reserve in south-east Botswana. It forms the cornerstone of the 5,909-square kilometre Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area, a key zone established in Southern Africa to jointly manage natural and cultural resources across international boundaries.

The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) was established to protect and enhance the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area and neighbouring communities through conservation and community empowerment.

Our mission & vision is to protect the Northern Tuli wildlife and find sustainable solutions to enable harmonious human-wildlife co-existence.

The Tuli Conservation Trust UK, TCT’s UK ‘sister’ trust established in 2006, has a focus on fundraising for activities of TCT. With the fencing of the key parts of the reserve completed and the anti-poaching team having been established, the focus of TCT is now firmly on the third pillar – community empowerment. To this end, a Community Engagement Programme was established in early 2022, which is seeking funding to expand its activities.

In order to support TCT we are a group of more than 40 riders from Europe, incl. the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden and Germany embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to cycle 150kms over three days in Mashatu Game Reserve. We will be riding through this pristine wilderness and experiencing wildlife and communities first-hand. The motivation behind our ride is to raise funds and awareness for The Tuli Conservation Trust (TCT) and its work in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve.

Should you wish to support the charity , any donation big or small will go solely towards funding the amazing work of the Tuli Conservation Trust.

Thank you in advance for your generous support and we look forward to sharing the highlights of the event and of how the funds raised will be used.
