My name is Stewart Powell, and for the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a truly special place called Open Door Children’s Home in Uganda. This home is run by an incredible man named Mugerwa Faisal, who has dedicated his life to caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in his community. Through his hard work and heart, these children receive love, shelter, education, and the chance at a better future.

Over the years, I’ve donated what I could, knowing that every bit goes directly to helping these kids—whether it’s food, school supplies, or medical care. The work being done there is nothing short of inspiring.

Now, I’m launching this GoFundMe to take things a step further.

For the past eight years, Open Door Children’s Home has been renting the property where the children live. Rent is a constant burden that drains resources which could be used directly for the kids. Our goal with this fundraiser is to raise enough money to buy land so that the home can have a permanent, stable place to grow and thrive—without the fear of eviction or rising costs.

This land will provide security, stability, and the foundation for a brighter future. It’s a chance to give these children not just shelter, but a real home.
