Lance Simmens Needs Our Help to Recover After Palisades Fire

We humbly request that you consider supporting our dear friend and Malibu community leader Lance Simmens, who has recently endured and overcome extraordinary hardships.

After being struck by a truck driver while riding his bicycle on Pacific Coast Hwy in late 2023 and spending the past year-plus rehabilitating his injuries, Lance recently lost his rental home in the devastating Palisades Fire.

He has spent his entire life serving others, and now it is our turn to reciprocate his generosity.

Our friend Lance has served as Public Works Commissioner for the City of Malibu, is a member of the Malibu Community Emergency Response Team (“CERT”), a regular contributor to the Malibu Times column "From the Left", a delegate to the L.A. County Democratic Party & California Democratic Party, and is a past President of the Malibu Adamson House Foundation and the Malibu Democratic Club (current Vice-President). He is the definition of a lifetime public servant.

Lance has spent four decades in senior-level positions in public policy, politics, and government. He has served with two Presidential Administrations (Carter and Clinton), two U.S. Senators, two Governors, the Georgia State Senate, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, and the Presidential Commission on Year 2000 Conversion. He has also worked as a professor at Santa Monica College, and with SAG-AFTRA.

Let's demonstrate a strong show of support for Lance like he has done for us all!

All funds raised will go towards relief efforts for Lance. He will need to replace nearly all of his personal belongings, including furniture and other household items, as well as clothing. He will also need to find a new rental home while continuing to rehabilitate his injuries.

Hap Henry and Gina Muscatel are the co-presidents of the Malibu Democratic club and work with Lance Simmens, who is vice president of the board. We are raising these funds to help Lance and will transfer all donations to him. Thank you for your consideration and generosity in support of our friend Lance.
