I took my Lana in to get fixed Nov 2nd only to find out she was 43 days pregnant. I could not terminate the pregnancy knowing how far along she was. It didn't seem right. At that time I had only had her 38 days. After further investigation I found out that she was impregnated by her Dad with her previous owner 3-5 days before I got her. I am doing everything I can to make the rest of this pregnancy healthy but she is a special case.
Because I didn't know she was pregnant I allowed her to go on long walks and play with my foster puppies. There is the inbreeding and last but not least the incision from the attempt at spay. I took her in Nov 13th to get an X Ray and the Doctor said she can see at least 5 puppies. Lanas doctor has strongly recommended that we do a C Section. She said Lana looks to be about a week out and her incision will not be healed by the time she goes into labour. If she goes into labour, the contractions could rip the stitches.
Starting Tuesday the 17th, I will be taking her in to get her progesterone levels checked everyday so they can time the C Section correctly. If they go too soon, we risk Lana not wanting her puppies. If we wait too long then she could go into labour and rip the stitches in her abdominal muscles.
This whole process has been estimated at $6,000. I could go to a cheaper place but Lana is a special case and I'd like her to have the specialist. I feel extremely weird asking for financial donations but I truly cant do this alone.
Thank you so much for your support
