My name is Jordan Dees, Esq., the brother of Lanai Ariyana Dees. On the morning of November 17, 2024, my world was shattered when my baby sister was shot and killed while sitting in her car in South Los Angeles. Lanai was the sweetest person you could ever meet, with the most infectious smile. We can’t fathom why anyone would want to hurt her, and the person responsible for her death is still at large. As you can imagine, this heart-wrenching tragedy has shaken our family to the core. Lanai was kind, loving, and supportive, always giving everything to her family without asking for anything in return. She was the reason so many of us laughed daily and strove to be better versions of ourselves. We will miss her every day, and her absence will be felt for years to come. We now face a lifelong, difficult journey to heal both mentally and spiritually.
