The Lanae Riley Memorial Fund
Donation protected
LaShaan Smith is a co-worker of mine and also a Mother, who suffered a great loss yesterday. Her baby daughter, Lanae Riley, was one of the fatalities in the Posen car accident in Chicago. Lanae was only 22 years old! During those 22 years she touched so many hearts and lives. She was an excellent academic student and leader of our women's track & field team at Robert Morris University. The Head Coach Paul Zavala said that "this is a very difficult time for all of us and will cherish the time we had with her over the years."
I cannot begin to imagine anything more devastating for a parent to face than losing a child (young adult). It seems almost unnatural for a child to die before his or her parents.
As family and friends are often at a loss as to what to say during these difficult times, I am starting this memorial fund because I do not believe this is something you plan for and I am praying that this little gesture that we do can help the Riley/Smith family not worry about how are they going to afford burying their child. Let's help this family and keep them in your thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.
Thank you in advance for your contribution.
