Hello everyone. I would like to start by telling Lana’s short and sudden cancer story.
In late April, Lana’s mama felt an unnatural shape in her belly and made sure to bring it to her doctors attention on May 4th at her 9th month check up (Lana had not experienced any symptoms). That same day, after X-ray and ultrasound confirmed a tumor, she was admitted to Children’s Hospital of SA.
After work up and tests, they were able to successfully remove the large mass found originally. That surgery was on May 8th. On a CT scan they discovered multiple nodules on her lungs. It was unsure if this was actual metastasis (spread of cancer).
Mama, Daddy and family had to await official diagnosis.
Three weeks later they were able to confirm it was adrenal cortical carcinoma (ACC) which is a super rare form of cancer. On June 3rd Lana underwent a lung biopsy to confirm metastasis.
Lana bear has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and will have to start aggressive chemo in order to beat this horrible disease. This will require 5 days of inpatient care each week for chemo with 2 days off repeatedly for the next 8-10 months. This will require her parents to be present at the hospital, but also as present as they can be for Lana’s 7 year old sister and 2 year old brother at home.
It’s safe to say their world has been flipped upside down in the last month and they are trying to figure things out. Income will be altered, priorities and obligations will change as they fight for their babygirl’s life.
If you are able to donate please know that they are truly, truly grateful for anything. They are taking it day by day as they do not what the future holds. BUT they do know who holds the future! They continue to have faith as they go down this new path ♥️
Thank you for taking the time to visit our donation page!
