So, It's that time again and I am blessed to be heading to Sierra Leone, West Africa in January 2019 for my third mission trip there! We are looking forward to going back on this trip as we have many exciting things getting off the ground. By God's grace and the help of many supporters, we have been able to do great work in the Maboleh Village in the Makeni District there in Sierra Leone.
This time around, we are ready to break ground on three new classrooms at the primary school! Currently, the school is so small and overcrowded, that there are two classes/grades of students functioning in each classroom... with one grade facing one way and struggling to hear their teacher while the other class faces the opposite direction trying to hear theirs.
As well, since last year we have been able to greatly increase the number of students we are sponsoring tuition for to attend secondary school (free education is offered through grade 6) and even start the process of offering some college scholarships!
The agricultural project is advancing quite well, and a part of our team on this trip will be working on launching a peanut project to help boost the economy and aide with much of the malnutrition on the villages.
Lastly, we will be working this trip to finalize the hiring of a full-time staff person on the ground overseeing our efforts in-country.
I am very excited about this trip and would be extremely grateful if you would consider supporting it. I realize this is the spending season of the year, but please consider giving to a cause that would allow us to minister to many families in this poverty-stricken country. Any size donation is greatly appreciated. I am trying to reach my goal of $3000 by Dec. 30.
Please feel free to give here or mail donations payable to CrossPoint UMC memo line: Sierra Leone - Wilson to:
