LaMoure HS Nat'l Speech Tournament

For the second consecutive year, LaMoure High School (LaMoure, ND) has the privilege of sending two talented speakers and their coach to the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament.  This year's tournament is being held in Dallas, TX.  

As stated on the Association's website (speechanddebate.org ), being members of a high school speech team has helped us to develop and enhance many life skills such as:  

--Improving reading, listening, speaking and writing skills
--Improving critical thinking skills
--Fostering intellectual curiosity
--Increasing motivation
--Increasing engagement – both at-risk and gifted students involved in speech are found to engage more and act out less

 We know that this national tournament will be an experience that will be remembered for the rest of our lives.  We look forward to making new friends and sharing information about LaMoure and North Dakota with students from across the country.

 There is considerable cost involved with participating in a tournament such as this.  Money raised will help defray costs for registration expenses, traveling costs, hotel rooms, and food for the 10 day adventure.  We would appreciate any donation that you would be willing to make.
