LaMoine Needs our Help
Donation protected
For those who are not yet aware, our beloved LaMoine Phillips has suffered a major health crisis… we are still searching for a diagnosis, but the symptoms have left her with paralysis in her legs and some memory loss and confusion. We are all so heartbroken to see her suffering like this – as Bruce said, “Two months ago she was leading Auna’s (her granddaughter) Daisy troop and now she is unable to stand – that is just unbelievable”.
She has impacted so many lives in the communities that she has lived. She has volunteered countless hours with the Girl Scouts and was a role model to so many young girls through that organization in addition to all the hours she volunteered at Millsap schools and churches that she has attended through the years.
She was in the hospital for four days and multiple test run to rule out a stroke or other similar conditions with these symptoms, but the doctors at the hospital did not provide a definitive diagnosis. However, it was recommended that she have intensive physical rehabilitation on an in-patient basis so for now she is at a physical rehab facility close to Fort Worth.
We all feel so overwhelmed and are trying to get her the diagnosis and therapy that will allow her to return her back home to her family and grandbabies who miss her terribly. Unfortunately, the neurologist we were referred to does not have an appointment until August 31st so we are looking for other doctors and options.
How you can help
We know that she is loved and cherished by so many and she would never ask for help but if you want to help her please
· Pray for her – specifically a diagnosis and healing for her and wisdom for the doctors and family
· If you can help us get a neurologist consult sooner than August 31st, please reach out to one of the family members
· Consider donating to her GoFundMe campaign. She is a private pay patient in the rehabilitation facility and faces many other mounting medical bills even after she returns home. She of course would never ask for your assistance, but we know that she is treasured by so many who have been asking how they can help.
We desperately want her to get the care and support she deserves so thank you for your prayers, support, and donations. We will update when new information becomes available so please check back for updates on LaMoine and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
