Hi, my name is Mary Hawk. I live in Fort Worth, Texas, and I am trying to raise money to help a family friend who has been a victim of a terrible crime. On July 14, 2022, our dear friend, Lam Doan, was shot in the face by drive-by shooters, while jogging in Austin, Texas. The perpetrators have not yet been found.

After hours of surgery, the doctors were unable to remove the bullet for fear of damaging the optic and surrounding nerves. Lam is blind in one eye, and suffers from constant debilitating head pain. The doctors are not hopeful but we are praying for a miracle. He has lost his job and his parents have had to step in to support him. His parents are depleting their savings and have had to put their house on the market while medical bills keep piling up. This family is very dear to our family and are very generous and giving people. It is time for them to be on the receiving end.

it is uncertain what the future is for Lam and his parents, Kim and Tu. It is probable that he will need future surgeries as the bullet is “floating” inside of his head. They have lost so much, not only physically, but emotionally and financially. The money that is donated here will be used for medical and living expenses. It will also be used so that they can keep their home of 21 years.
