Lake Travis' Father & Coach Scott Trigg for his children

Donation protected
Hi there! This is Chad Hart - "Coach" if you'd like - a friend of Scott Trigg. We coached our Lake Travis 6th Grade Tackle football last fall with his son Garrett on our team.

I am most proud of our community and why I live here in supporting our children not just with athletics but as a big family. My time on the football field with Scott and Garrett will be remembered my entire life.

I will do my best to tell his story with the help of the mother of his great kids, Adrienne, but in all seriousness - just give. This money will go to his children; clearly, no one can be prepared for this loss with young children. Consider your kids and what they would do with a sudden passing. My own selfish thoughts immediately jumped to what if this happened to me? What would my kids do? Very difficult :(

So please, if you can, take a couple of minutes for a short read and let's help his children. One more please fam - let us squash rumors and be positive in a time of sadness - this money will go to the kids well being and no one else. Have a heart for them I bet of you!

Memorial services will be announced for/in May as the family wishes Hanna to have a path to her Senior year graduation first. (Date indicated here is TBD)

It is with my own heavy heart & disbelief a fellow Cavalier has suddenly passed away - we share the passing of Scott Trigg, beloved father, son, and friend. Scott passed away at the age of 50. His children—Hanna (18), Hayden (16), and Garrett (12)—are now facing life without their father, navigating an unimaginable loss.

Scott was born on August 20, 1974, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1998 with a degree in Marketing and Business and proudly served as the Social Chair of his Sigma Chi fraternity. After marrying in 2000, Scott moved to Denver, where he began his career in banking at Wells Fargo and completed his MBA at Regis University in 2003.

He moved to Austin, Texas, in 2005 and spent the rest of his life there, building a successful career in Treasury Management and Commercial Banking. More importantly, Austin became the home where all three of his children were born and raised.

Scott divorced in 2020 but continued his love of football, fast cars, and family. He was a passionate supporter of our Lake Travis Football & our Friday Night Lights, starting with his daughter as a young LT cheerleader and proudly watching his oldest son serve as honorary Team Captain on Varsity the year Lake Travis won the State Football Championship.

More recently, he volunteered as an assistant coach for his youngest son Garrett’s LT 6th grade football team, pouring his heart into the game and into his children with me.

His kids adored him—and they will carry forward his legacy of humor, kindness, and love for family. They will forever remember him cracking jokes and silliness, lighting up the room with his energy.

I think we all immediately "go back" to the last time we saw someone once they passed away - could we have done more? Said more? Hugged more? Took a photo that night? The last time I saw Scott, we went to his friend Kai's just to hang out. I have no photos. I wish I had taken a lingering goodbye.

This campaign is being created to support Hanna, Hayden, and Garrett’s ongoing education, counseling, relocation expenses, and future opportunities as they face this heartbreaking transition. We also recognize the financial strain this sudden and tragic loss has created.

This family has been blessed by the strength of the Lake Travis community over the past 20 years, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued compassion and generosity. Any support—whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this campaign—means more than words can express.

Thank you for honoring Scott’s life and investing in the future of his children, who carry his spirit with them every single day.

With love and gratitude,
