Former students have told me that my 10-day-long Annual Geology Field Trips were the most memorable part of their undergraduate education. The 10-day-long trips covered the USA and parts of Canada and saw students camping and preparing communal meals to reduce their overall costs. Half the cost of these trips was covered by donations from alumni, so that the cost to students was within their means. I have organized a 10-day-long trip around Lake Superior in mid-August. The students going on the trip have raised $950 by holding bake sales during the 2024-25 academic year. We have scheduled another bake sale for June 7th.
