Lake Leelanau Jrs go to Nationals
Lake Leelanau Rowing Club Jr Team is comprised of athletes from all around the Grand Traverse Bay from Elk Rapids through Traverse City and into the Leelanau Peninsula area.
Over the weekend of May 19 and 20, the team competed in 12 events at the Midwest Jr Rowing Championships. 2 of those boats comprising 5 or the team members have qualified to attend USRowing Youth Nationals in Rancho Cordova, CA in less that 3 weeks. Racing will take place on June 7,8 and 9.
The 5 rowers and the whole team worked hard training and racing, but just as important are learning a lot of life lessons about growing as a person and as a competitive athlete.
We are looking for financial assistance to fund the trip to California for the rowers and their coach. This trip is coming up quickly and we would appreciate any donation you are able to provide in this short time frame.
