Lake Fire Relief: Supporting Julie Maple
Donation protected
Little more than an hour after the Lake Fire inferno began, Julie Maple scrambled to load her car with the cherished photos and memories that meant the most. Time was short and the aggressive fire was approaching. These cherished memories, the clothes on her back, and her trusty Dodge Durango, along with her life, is all she was able to save.
Today, Grandma Julie is safe and sound, taking refuge with her daughter Hillary and son-in-law Ben as they await their first child in September. There are amazing blessings just around the corner, but her home and nearly all of her possessions have been destroyed.
Luckily, it is expected that insurance will cover the cost to replace the structure of Julie's home, but that does not include her possessions, nor the priceless momentos and memories. It does not include the supporting structures on the property, the rustic guest lodge, the barn, or many of the improvements Julie has made to the property in the years since her husband Nelson has passed.
There is no way we can ever replace what was lost, but we can help make these coming months much easier and less stress filled with our communal assistance. Julie needs immediate assistance for her current day to day needs, mainly clothes and furniture to make her current accommodations more comforting. In the coming months, she will need assistance transforming the shell of a house we expect the insurance to provide, into a home. Together we can make this challenging time less of a financial stress and make sure Julie can focus on what's important, her new grandchild and rebuilding.
Any and all help is appreciated!
