Foundation of Hope Following Hurricane Laura

On August 27, Hurricane Laura swept ashore as one of the most powerful storms to hit the U.S. This storm was Southwest Louisiana's first Category 4 hurricane on record, making landfall just 50 miles from Lake Charles.
Heartbroken. That’s the best way to describe my feelings when I see the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura. But, also, I am proud of the health care professionals, many of my former colleagues who bravely remained at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick and CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area hospitals. They rode out this horrible hurricane in our hospitals and continued to care for our patients. They are health care heroes. Many lost everything. Their homes uninhabitable or gone. Others need food, fuel for generators, window air conditioners and other basic items to conduct their daily lives. Yet you will see dedication like none other. They continue to come to work and care for their patients. I want to raise money to help this team and help this beautiful health care ministry as they stay open for all who might need them even during the most difficult of times.
