Laius and AJ’s Journey to a New Beginning

To all the friends, family and strangers who might come across this fundraiser—-

Hi my name is Laius and my boyfriend’s name is AJ. I’m reaching out to share some exciting news, but also a bit of a personal request. My boyfriend and I are planning to move into our very first apartment together this spring, and we couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter in our lives. However, as we’re working to make this dream a reality, we’re also facing some unexpected financial challenges that make it harder than we anticipated.

As many of you know, I have been managing type 2 diabetes for some time now (about four years) and while I do my best to stay on top of it, the cost of healthcare has been a huge financial burden. Between medical bills, prescriptions, and doctor visits, especially as we plan to move out— it’s been difficult and highly stressful to keep up with everything while also trying to save for our move.

The reality is that the combination of everyday living expenses and the added cost of managing my health has put a strain on our finances as we try to prepare for this big move. We’ve been working hard to save, but there’s still a significant gap that we’re struggling to fill—things like the security deposit, rent, utility setup, and all the furniture and essentials needed to get settled in. These are essential costs that we can’t avoid, and it’s been overwhelming at times.

That’s why we’re turning to our community for support. We know that times are tough for everyone, but if you’re in a position to help, even a small contribution would make a world of difference. Every dollar would go toward helping us cover these moving costs and medical expenses, so we can start our new life in a stable, safe environment without the constant worry of falling behind. No amount is too small, and we would be so grateful for any help you can offer.

Many of you know that I started a fundraiser sometime last year / two years ago to cover furniture and supplies and we got the majority off our list!!! (Woohooo!!!)
