I'm Ros (they/them) and the handsome dude in the cover photo is my fiance, Lain (he/they). We live in Florida, where Governor DeSantis has taken a very public anti-trans stance, and we're currently facing some of the most transphobic legislation in the country. Lain's health insurance is through his employer, which opted to not include gender-affirming care in employees' plans, so our only option for this one is private pay. This procedure has been a long time coming for Lain already, and in light of new transphobic legislation being passed every day we're eager to have this done now for fear of the opportunity being stripped away.

The quote Lain was given at his consultation for this procedure (double-incision, DI-FNG) is $9,087. That includes the surgeon fee, anesthesiologist fee, equipment, and post-op supplies. Lain works full time, I work part-time while I'm finishing school, and neither of us can take on any more hours than we're working already--so, we're asking for help. Friends, family, loved ones, strangers on the internet: anything you can spare helps and would mean the world to us, and sharing this makes a huge difference too. We can't properly express how much Lain needs this, and how much it would/will change their quality of life for the better.
