Everything starts when one day after work arriving at home my husband told me that Laila had a ball the size of an apple in her neck. After examining it I told my husband "this ball is very strange, I don't like it". I then decided to take Laila to the emergency room. After several test the doctor entered into the room where we were waiting. She took a chair and with a very serious voice she told us "we believe it is lymphoma". When I saw her face I felt that this was a very serious thing, although I did not know what a lymphoma was. I asked "what is lymphoma"? She answered "it is Cancer".
My world collapsed, and also Laila's because with her little voice she turned to see me and said "wait do I have cancer"? With tears in her eyes she said "NO MOMMY, I don't want to die." I did not know what to say and I just said "NO don't worry you are not going to have that." Then the doctor told me they were going to send her to the Children's Hospital that they have more resources and oncologists that can help her
We spent a week at Children's Hospital, and after a biopsy and implantation of a catheter we confirmed that Laila had Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 3. After a few days we started chemo therapy, the doctors explained that this type of cancer has a high percentage of cure, but I know that cancer is cancer and we are afraid. I believe that when someone in your family has cancer the whole family has cancer. The family member suffers and all of us around the whole family suffer. As a parent we never want to see our children suffer and we try to ensure that they are always happy and well , but sometimes there are things that surpass and that is why we continue to ask you for your Prayers so that she with the help of god can face fighting and overcome this disease that is not easy and really hard.
Thanks to everyone
